ANNUAL ROAD PAINTING AND PAVEMENT MARKING

The Berrien County Road Department hereby provides notice to the public regarding annual road painting and pavement marking operations beginning on Wednesday, July 10th, 2019. This process is expected to take roughly 3 weeks, weather permitting.

Pavement marking work zones are moving work zones, which move slowly. Please be advised to stay back and do not drive over or cross-over freshly painted lines. The paint used is manufactured to dry rapidly. Length of time for pavement marking paint to dry varies on the weather. Paint can dry in as little as 30 seconds on warm days, to up to 10 minutes on cool or damp days.

Avoid driving over or crossing freshly painted lines. You can find a map showing the first round of painting locations along with this press release on our website. The Berrien County Road Department also contracts work for some cities and villages (shown in yellow). Roads that have been chip sealed will be painted at a later date.

If you have additional questions, please contact our offices at the number listed above.
